In 2006, Michigan released a study related to serious motorcycle accidents. Table 9 indicates ithat 8.8% of serious motorcycle accidents were the automobiles' fault by rear-ending a motorcycle. If the rider could move in between two cars, some of these accidents could have been prevented. Another thing to note in table 9 is the failure to yield statistic. In 2004, 61.5% of serious motorcycle accidents were due to a automobile turning in front of a motorcyclist. -
